چکیده

Abstract The mechanical properties of the deep rock are impacted not only by complicated stress environment but also mineral composition. To reveal relationship between development characteristics and acoustic emission signals in evolution rocks, metagabbros with different feldspar were subjected to tests under hydraulic coupling. characteristic parameter their correlation investigated. results showed that property metagabbro was better than without mineral. had much larger AE ringing counts absolute energies, as well stronger brittleness features development. With increasing content metagabbro, a longer duration higher amplitude. During unstable crack propagation stage, exhibited four peak frequency ranges, while displayed five ranges. nonuniform more pores microcracks uniform permeability rocks highly correlated uniformity This study provides theoretical foundation for monitoring early warning water inrush risk engineering.

Study of the Frictional Surface Damage Using Acoustic Emission Method

In this study, the change at rubbing surfaces has been investigated experimentally using an acoustic emission signal monitoring system. A steel ring is slipped on the surface of  a metallic sheet to simulate frictional conditions. The mechanical disturbances caused by the movement of the ring produce stress waves propagating along the sheet surface. The out of plane displacement of the sheet su...

Simulations of pressure fluctuations and acoustic emission in hydraulic fracturing.

We consider a two dimensional lattice model to describe the opening of a crack in hydraulic fracturing. In particular we consider that the material only breaks under tension and the fluid has no pressure drop inside the crack. For the case in which the material is completely homogeneous (no disorder) we present results for pressure and elastic energy as a function of time and compare our findin...

Characteristics of Acoustic Emission Signals from Composites

Certain characteristics of acoustic emission (AE) signals from graphite-epoxy composite specimens were correlated last year with the mechanical behavior of the materials. Moisture degradation, which reduced the ultimate strength, resulted in a change in the AE amplitude distribution early in the loading history. Also, AE having distinct frequency spectral types tended to occur at or near singul...

Health Monitoring for Composite under Low-Cycle Cyclic Loading, Considering Effects of Acoustic Emission Sensor Type

Composites have been widely used in the aerospace industry. Due to the requirement of a high safety for such structures, they could be considered for health monitoring. The acoustic emission approach is one of most effective methods for identifying damages in composites. In this article, standard specimens were made from carbon fibers and the epoxy resin, with the [03/902/...
